NORFOLK, Va. – For the second time in as many months, Yulia Starodubtseva of the Old Dominion women’s tennis team was named the Conference USA Athlete of the Month.
Starodubtseva had herself a month of October, going a perfect 8-0 in doubles, while winning the ITA Atlantic Region Doubles Championship, punching her ticket to the Oracle ITA National Fall Championships.
Starodubtseva and teammate Alesya Yakubovich took down the No. 15 and No. 52 nationally ranked double tandems in October. Starodubtseva also went 4-1 in singles, defeating two opponents from UVA and one from Virginia Tech in the process. Over the past two months, Starodubtseva has compiled an 11-0 record in doubles and a 7-1 record in singles.
The Kakhovka, Ukraine-native will compete in the 2019 Oracle ITA National Fall Championships in Newport Beach, Cali. starting tomorrow.
