Women's Hoops Blows Past Captains, 114-53 in Exhibition

NORFOLK, Va. - The Old Dominion women's basketball team put up 114 points up over Christopher Newport on Friday night in their exhibition. Sophomore Aziah Hudson recorded 18 points, one rebound and one steal in the 114-53 victory. 

"I thought tonight was a good test for us in the standpoint of our team, said head coach Nikki McCray. "We're still trying to figure who this team is. Every year the personality of this team has changed, because we've brought in different people in the fold." 

The Monarchs opened the first half with 60 points, holding the Captains to just 23 points. 

"We're going to play fast, turn people over and do that consistently. We have to be a little bit sharper and a little bit smarter." 

In the second half, ODU put up 54 points, holding CNU to just 30. 

Senior Taylor Edwards led the Monarchs with six steals, overall ODU had 27 in that category. Ajah Wayne grabbed seven rebounds for the Monarchs 42 total.
