NORFOLK, Va. – The Old Dominion rowing team will be competing right here in Norfolk this weekend on Sunday, October 26, in the Head of the Lafayette.
The program will have three boats racing in the Women’s 4+ competition, which will get started at 10:10 a.m., and another two boats competing in the Women’s 8+ at 11:50 a.m.
The Head of the Lafayetteis a 5,000-meter head race upon the tidal waters of the Lafayette River. For more information on the event, you can visit the Hampton Roads Rowing Club website by clicking here.
Before the Head of the Lafayette, the Monarchs will have an intrasquad competition on Saturday morning, October 26 from 8:00-10:00 a.m. which will be visible from Mayflower Drive as well as Granby Bridge looking northwest. For anyone who is interested in meeting the team, there will be a light breakfast of bagels and coffee after the rowing session at the ODU Rowing Center.
