NORFOLK, Va. - The Old Dominion women’s soccer team (8-3-3, 2-3-1 C-USA) played Florida Atlantic (10-3-1, 4-1-1 CUSA) to a 1-1 draw after 110 minutes of soccer on Thursday night in front of 496 fans at the ODU Soccer Complex. FAU entered the week ranked No. 30 in the NCAA’s most recent RPI, which is the highest ranked team in Conference USA.

The Monarchs claimed a 1-0 lead in the 44th minute after Allie Brimmer finished a Cami Johnstone pass. The goal was Brimmer’s second of the season.

After the opening 45 minutes, Old Dominion held an 8-4 advantage in the shot department.

With 65 seconds remaining in regulation, FAU's Sammy Vitols tied the match at 1-1, sending the match into overtime.

The two teams played to a stalemate after the two overtime periods. FAU held an 8-0 advantage for corner kicks for the game.

Thursday night marked the sixth overtime match for ODU (2-1-3).

Kasey Perry was credited with three saves in goal for Old Dominion. Cassidy Wasdin also made three saves for the Owls.

Next up, the Monarchs hit the road for Birmingham for a Sunday, Oct. 20 match against UAB at 1:00 p.m. ET. Sunday afternoon’s match will stream on C-USA TV.
