WILLIAMSBURG, Va. - The Old Dominion (3-7-1) men's soccer team picked up a 1-0 road win at William & Mary (4-5-2) on Saturday night. Against in-state opponents, the Monarchs are 2-0 this season.
In the first half of play, William & Mary notched an own goal to put ODU on the scoreboard first. Play went back and forth and after 45 minutes of action, ODU held a 1-0 advantage.
ODU took five shots in the second half to pressure the Tribe. Daniel Bloyou, Milo Ayala and Tom Wustenberg all took one shot, while Edison Giron took two shots.
Oliver Padilla not only notched his first win in goal this season but also his first shutout. Padilla made one save.
Overall, the Tribe outshot ODU, 13-5.
