NORFOLK, Va. – Despite outshooting the Lady Techsters 23-5 for the match, the Old Dominion women’s soccer team (6-2-2, 0-2-0 C-USA) fell to LA Tech (9-0-1, 1-0-0 C-USA) by a 2-1 score on Friday night at the ODU Soccer Complex.

LA Tech jumped out to an early 1-0 lead in the 17th minute off an Autumn Woodard goal.

Old Dominion answered back six minutes later in the 23’, when Amanda Nhek scored her team leading eighth goal of the season off a Morgan Hall assist.

Moments later in the 26th minute, it was Autumn Woodard scoring again, giving the Lady Techsters a 2-1 advantage.

ODU outshot LA Tech 11-4 in the first half and 12-1 in the second half. The Monarchs took six of the match’s eight corner kicks.

Old Dominion will hit the road next week for a pair of Conference USA showdowns. First, on Thursday, Oct. 3 at 7:00 p.m., ODU will take on Marshall in Huntington, W.V. Then on Sunday, Oct. 6 at 2:00 p.m., the Monarchs will square-off against Western Kentucky in Bowling Green, Ky. Both matches will stream on C-USA TV.
