NORFOLK, Va. - The No. 22 Old Dominion field hockey team will wrap up their stretch of five-consecutive road matches against No. 3 UConn in a BIG EAST matchup on Friday, September 27 at 3:00 p.m. in Storrs, Connecticut.
In its last game, ODU came up short against James Madison in a 3-1 decision on Sunday afternoon. The Monarchs tallied 10 penalty corners in the game, but could only penetrate the JMU defense once, as senior Jess Miller netted her second goal of the season for the team’s only tally.
Despite faltering against James Madison, the Monarchs have won five of their last six games, while going 3-1 on this current stretch of road games, including winning their first conference game against Providence, 4-3, in a shootout.
Senior Rebecca Birch leads the team with 10 points, registering four goals and two assists so far this season. Including Birch, the Monatchs have four players with multiple goals on the season, while Marlee McClendon has dished out a team-high four assists.
Sophomore goalkeeper Cam MacGillivray boasts a goals against average of 1.67, has collected 23 saves and has posted two shutouts in this campaign.
Freshman back Nicole Fredricks is coming into this game with back-to-back BIG EAST Freshman of the Week honors under her belt.

Senior Svea Boker leads the team with six goals and 14 points, while three others are tied for second on the team in goals with four. Sophomore goalkeeper Cheyanne Sprecher has 32 saves and a goals against average of 0.88.
