Hutchinson, Pilkington & Talbi Selected to Compete at ITA All-American Championships

NORFOLK, Va. – Holly Hutchinson of the Old Dominion women’s tennis team was selected in the ITA All-American Championships Singles Main Draw, which will take place Oct. 9-13 at LaFortune Tennis Center and the Michael D. Case Tennis Center in Tulsa, Okla. Hutchinson and ODU teammate Brooke Pilkington were also selected to compete in Qualifying Doubles, while Monarch freshman Shalimar Talbi was chosen for Qualifying Singles.

The ITA National Ranking & Tournament Committee, consisting of the 12 region chairs and the ITA Operating Committee Chair, is responsible for all selections for the championships. Only NCAA Division I student-athletes are eligible to participate.

Earlier this week, Hutchinson, Pilkington and Talbi were nationally ranked by the ITA. Hutchinson enters the fall season ranked No. 48 for singles, while Hutchinson and Pilkington are the No. 27 ranked doubles tandem. Talbi is the No. 3 ranked Freshman/Newcomer in all of Division I.

In singles, Hutchinson is the second highest ranked singles player from Conference USA. In doubles, Hutchinson and Pilkington are also the second highest ranked doubles team from the C-USA.

Talbi is the highest ranked student-athlete represented by a non-Power 5 school in the Top Freshmen/Newcomers Rankings.
