Former Lady Monarch standout Danielle Hensil begins her first season as an assistant with the women''s lacrosse program.

Hensil had a standout career with the Lady Monarchs helping Old Dominion to 39 wins over her career including a school record 13 wins in 2002 and the CAA regular season title in 2003. She concluded her four-years with the Lady Monarchs with 124 goals, 39 assists, and 163 points, finishing fourth in all three categories on the all-time Old Dominion record books.

As a senior, Hensil capped off her stellar career with a nomination to the prestigious Division I North-South Senior All-Star Game, earned First Team All-CAA honors, and was named an Inside Lacrosse.com National Player of the Week. In 2003 she was the only Lady Monarch to score in all 14 games registering 38 goals, 10 assists, and 48 points on the season. Additionally Hensil performed a hat-trick eight times and scored three-game winners, was first on the team in groundballs with 44, and tied for second on the team with 15 caused turnovers.

Hensil, a CAA Scholar-Athlete, Dean''s List member, and recipient of the Donna Doyle Scholarship, graduated in 2003 from Old Dominion with a degree in health and physical education.
