The 1991-92 co-Alumni Association Male Athlete of the Year and All-AmericanPeter Horst wrestled at Old Dominion University from 1989-92. The team's MostValuable Player, Horst compiled a 24-5 record in 1992 and won four tournament championships that year. The 134-pounder completed his collegiate career with a 57-14-1record at Old Dominion.
As a senior, Horst won the Old Dominion Invitational, Mat Town, the VirginiaIntercollegiate State Championships, and the Colonial Athletic Association Championships.He also competed in the NCAA Championships.
As a junior in 1991, Horst captured the NCAA East Regional title and compileda 33-9-1 record. He won the Mat Town Championship, and the Eastern Nationals title.Horst advanced to the NCAA National Championships in Iowa City, IA. He would finishsixth and earn All-American honors. That same year, the Monarch wrestling squad wouldfinish 20th nationally.
In his senior year, Horst earned the prestigious NCAA Degree Continuance Awardand graduated with a degree in education.
