When Kathy Fosina Mustain completed her career in the fall of 1991, she had the lowest goals against career average in NCAA history at 0.48 and 71 career shutouts. In all, she was a part of three NCAA National Championship squads in 1988, 90 and 1991. The 1991 team allowed only ten goals and went 26-0 on the season.

In 1990, Fosina Mustain did not allow a goal in the three NCAA Tournament matches and was a member of the 1990 USA National Field Hockey squad. In 1989, she was named to the NCAA Championship All-Tournament team. During her four years at Old Dominion the Lady Monarchs compiled a 99-5-1 record and won their last 36 matches.

Fosina Mustain was the first Old Dominion student athlete to receive the NCAA Women's Enhancement Program Post Graduate scholarship. She was a three-time Academic All-State selection and in 1992 was selected to the GTE/CoSIDA Academic All-District squad.

She also lettered in lacrosse, scoring six goals and assisting on another.

The Virginia Beach, Va., native graduated from Old Dominion in 1992 with a degree in health and physical education.
