St. Clair earned honorable mention Division II All-American honors as a junior in1968-69. That year, he averaged 9.0 assists per game as the Monarchs under Hall of Famecoach Sonny Allen went 21-10, advancing to its first NCAA Division II regional tournament.As a sophomore, St. Clair average 10.0 assists per game. He averaged 17.7 points per game in 1968-69. He was injured his senior year.
A 5-9 guard who dunked, St. Clair helped set a team season scoring record of 98.2points per game in 1967-68. St. Clair still ranks near the top at Old Dominion in careerassists with 608, free throw accuracy (82.0), and in scoring. A star on four All-Navy championship teams, St. Clair helped the Monarchs when they played most of their games onthe road by driving the team's 18-passenger bus.
