NORFOLK, Va. – Head coach of the Old Dominion women’s golf team Mallory Hetzel added Madison Corley and Anika Bolčíková to the roster for fall 2019. Corley transfers from UNC Pembroke, while Bolčíková joins the Monarchs from Auburn.

Corley joins the Monarchs after two years at UNCP, where she was named 2017 Peach Belt Freshman of the Year, 2017 and 2018 First Team All-Conference, while earning All-America Scholar honors in 2017 and 2018. Corley recorded her lowest collegiate round (69) during her freshman season.  A Vermont native, Corley was a five-time Vermont Girls Junior Amateur Champion, three-time Vermont Women's Amateur Champion and the Vermont Girls High School Player of the Year as a freshman. Corley completed her final three years of high school at the IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida.

“I’ve known Madison for a number of years now dating back to my days in the Carolinas," said Hetzel. "She’s a very talented golfer and has worked hard to be a good student. She’s excited to be a Monarch and I expect her to help us right away.”

Bolčíková will join the Monarchs with three years of eligibility remaining. A native of Slovakia, she played in six tournaments at Auburn, including a first place finish at the 2018 Magnolia invitational, shooting 71-66 (-7) through 36 holes. Prior to her collegiate career, Bolčíková was the 2018 International and National Slovak Open Champion, 2017 Junior Slovak Open Champion and 2017 Junior Czech Open International Champion. Other amateur accolades include a second place finish at the 2018 Czech Open and third place finisher at the 2016 Slovak Open. Bolčíková played for the Slovakian national team at the European Ladies Team Championship in 2017, 2019 and at the European Girls' Team Championship in 2015 and 2016.

“Anika is a world class talent. We are so lucky to have her joining our team and know she’ll make an immediate impact. Like all of our student-athletes, she has experience playing well all over the world. I love that she’s such a great athlete and so eager to be a champion.”

Corley and Bolčíková join Pilar Muguruza as Hetzel's incoming student-athletes for the fall.
