CLE ELUM, Wash. – The Old Dominion women’s golf team opened up the Cle Elum NCAA Regional on Monday with a five-over 293 on the 6,306 yard track. The Monarchs are tied for seventh along with Ohio State and Oregon State.
Three Monarchs in Charlotte De Corte, Sana Tufail and Abigail Portyrata all posted one-over 73's to open the tournament. De Corte and Portyrata carded three birdies on Monday afternoon. Tufail was one of four athletes to post an eagle on the day, while adding two birdies on her card. All three seniors are tied for 26th in the 96-player field.
Freshman Leah Onosato entered the clubhouse with a two-over 74. Onosato earned four birdies and is tied for 38th. Jana Melichova posted a 79.
ODU will be paired with Oregon State and Ohio State on Tuesday morning. They will tee off on hole 1 beginning at 11:30 a.m. ET. The top six teams from each regional will advance to the NCAA Championships on May 17-22 at the Blessings Golf Club hosted by Arkansas.
