NEWPORT, R.I. - Old Dominion women's sailing is in sixth place after the first day of the Sperry Women's Semifinal Championship hosted by Brown University on Tuesday.

The top nine teams from the two semifinals advance to the national championships beginning on Thursday.

Olivia Windemuller was the Division A skipper, while Julia Williams-Portland and Emily Harrison were crew. Out of eight races, they recorded seven, top-10 finishes.

The Division B duo of Bridget Groble and Breanna Schultz took third in the division after day one. They also had seven top 10 finishes, including a second place spot in the second race of the day.

The semifinals continue tomorrow with a 10 a.m. start time.
