NORFOLK, Va. -- Looking to extend its consecutive series win streak to five, Old Dominion hosts Louisiana Tech this weekend for a Conference USA series at the Bud Metheny Complex.
First pitch is slated for 6 p.m. ET on Friday, 3 on Saturday and 1 on Sunday. Coverage begins with ESPN+ on Friday and then concludes with CUSA.tv on Saturday and Sunday.
With LA Tech in town, ODU Athletics encourages fans to donate to the Louisiana Tech Disaster Relief Fund after the tornado that hit their campus last week.
Old Dominion has steadily built its way out of a 1-9 hole to open conference play. The Monarchs are 12-4 in the last 16 games and have won each of their last four series, including taking 2-of-3 at No. 28 Florida Atlantic last weekend.
ODU enters this weekend in a three-way tie for seventh with UTSA and Middle Tennessee in the C-USA standings. The top eight teams qualify for the conference tournament in Biloxi.
An offensive outburst has been behind the Monarchs' recent success. ODU is averaging 8.1 runs per game in the last 11 and has 10+ hits in 10 of the last 12 games.
Individually, leading hitter Bryce Windham (.352, 2 HR, 17 RBI) continues to be productive out of the leadoff spot, ranking in the top 50 nationally in OBP (.480).
Vinnie Pasquantino (.274, 10 HR, 44 RBI) and Andy Garriola (.318, 7 HR, 42 RBI) have both been on a tear recently, combining for 43 RBIs and 10 home runs in the last 15 games.
Pasquantino, with a solo home run against Virginia Tech in the Commonwealth Classic on Tuesday, became the first Monarch since Ben Verlander in 2013 with double digit home runs in a single season.
On the mound, Tommy Gertner (1-0, 3.03 ERA) will once again start on Friday. Saturday and Sunday's starters are to be determined.
ABOUT LA TECH
