IRVING, Texas -- Old Dominion sophomore shortstop Tommy Bell has been named to the 2019 InTouch Credit Union Conference USA Baseball All-Academic Team, the league office announced on Wednesday.
Bell had a cumulative GPA of 3.81 through the Fall 2019 semester and capped off this academic year with a 4.0 in the Spring.
A Geography major, Bell has also received the C-USA Academic Medal in the Spring of 2018 and is again eligible this Spring. He has been awarded Dean’s List honors for Fall 2017, Spring 2018, Fall 2019 and again in Spring 2019.
On the field, the Ohio native has started all 51 games at shortstop and is hitting .255 with 10 doubles, four home runs and 33 RBIs. He also leads the league in assists with 141, while committing just seven errors for a .970 fielding percentage.
