NORFOLK, Va.. -- In the first of two consecutive Tuesday matchups between the former CAA foes, Old Dominion and VCU meet at the Bud Metheny Complex on Tuesday at 6 p.m. ET.
The game will be streamed on ESPN+.
Tuesday's contest is Old Dominion's lone home game in a nine-game stretch. Over the weekend, the Monarchs won 2-of-3 at UAB, marking ODU's first Conference USA series win since of May of 2017. This weekend, Old Dominion hits the road once again for a series at UTSA.
The Monarchs are 7-1 in midweek games this season, after suffering their first midweek loss at Virginia, 4-2, last Tuesday in Charlottesville.
Friday night aces Nick Pantos (3-1, 3.43 ERA) and VCU's Connor Gillispie (2-0, 1.71 ERA) are both expected to start, although both hurlers will likely see abbreviated innings.
ODU and VCU meet again next Tuesday at The Diamond in Richmond.
This will be the 153rd all-time meeting between the I-64 rivals.
