DALLAS, Texas – Old Dominion women’s golfer Jana Melichova was named Conference USA Freshman of the Year, while Charlotte De Corte earned a First Team All-Conference spot. Two other Monarchs in Leah Onosato and Sana Tufail earned All-Conference honors, the league announced Tuesday. ODU had the most All-Conference members out of all the C-USA schools.

Earning a spot on the All-Conference First Team, Charlotte De Corte owns a 72.7 stroke average. De Corte tied for third place at the 2019 C-USA Championships individually, where she posted three-straight par or better rounds. Earlier in the season, De Corte went seven-under par at the UCF Challenge, adding another top-5 finish. The senior ranks 16th in the nation in par 3 scoring.

Melichova and Leah Onosato both earned spots on the All-Conference Second Team. Both freshman, Melichova owns the best stroke average on the team with a 72.6. The C-USA Freshman of the Year finished in second place at the Golfweek Program Challenge, her first collegiate tournament, which also marked the lowest round for a Monarch in school history. Nationally, Melichova ranks 11th in par 4 scoring. Joining the Monarchs in January, Onosato has played in five collegiate rounds. Her stroke average is a 73.5 and tied for eighth place finish at the Briar's Creek Invitational, her best finish.

Rounding out ODU's All-Conference accolades is Sana Tufail, who is also a member of the C-USA All-Academic squad. Tufail boasts a 3.81 GPA in Speech Pathology and a 73.4 stroke average.
