NORFOLK, Va. -- Vinnie Pasquantino delivered a 1-out RBI single with the bases loaded in the bottom of the ninth to give Old Dominion baseball a walk-off win over Campbell, 4-3, on Tuesday afternoon at the Bud Metheny Complex.
Old Dominion (9-2) has now won eight straight and two of the last four victories have been walk-offs.
Campbell (8-4), the reigning Big South champs, broke a 2-2 tie in the top of the ninth on a Matthew Barefoot solo home run.
However, the Monarchs answered in the bottom half. After Campbell's closer Tyson Messer walked the first two batters of the inning, Matt Burch roped a double down the left field line off of new pitcher Wyatt Tyson to tie the game.
Pasquantino then came to the plate with bases loaded and one out and singled through the right side.

Hunter Gregory earned the win on the mound for the second consecutive game. Starting pitcher Tommy Gertner was once again strong, throwing four shutout innings with five strikeouts and zero walks.
QUOTABLES
"It was a really good college baseball game... It was good to see Vinnie come up big for us. Hitting with runners on third and less than two outs has not been a strength of our's this year, so getting that run in right there was really big." - Chris Finwood, on the walk-off win
"Gertner gave us another good start. That kind of gets lost in the late-game heroics. I thought Gregory pitched well. He gave up the home run to Barefoot, but Barefoot is probably a big leaguer, so I told him to not worry about that." - Finwood, on pitching
"It was just one of those at-bats where I felt like I was in command the entire time. They were having issues with command that inning... We're giving ourselves chances to win ballgames and we're doing it right now. So, we're just going to keep that going." Pasquantino, on walk-off hit and winning streak
