LYNCHBURG, Va. – The Old Dominion (3-8) women’s lacrosse team is set to face Liberty (7-2) on Friday, March 22 at 3 p.m. The Monarchs are on a two-game winning streak after wins over ECU and Longwood last week.
This week, Haleigh Wurzel was named Big East Defensive Player of the Week after her strong performances in goal last week. The graduate student notched 23 saves and held the Pirates and Lancers to single digit goals.
Glory Johnson and Sophia Richie led the Monarchs offensively last week to two wins. Johnson led the Big East with nine goals, while Richie netted six goals.

The Flames are riding a three-game winning streak with wins over Kennesaw State, Furman and ECU. Entering their first season in the ASUN, Liberty is led offensively by Mia Toscano with 36 points this season. Their only two losses this season come from No. 10 Notre Dame and Richmond.
