JOHNS ISLAND, S.C. – The Old Dominion women’s golf team is set to compete in the Briar’s Creek Invitational on March 18 and 19 hosted by the College of Charleston. Eight top-50 teams, including No. 39 ODU will be competing on the 6,101-yard, par 72 track.
The Monarchs are coming off a mid-February sixth place finish at the Moon Golf Invitational. Since then, ODU has moved up three spots in the national rankings according to Golfstat.
As a team, ODU ranks seventh in the country for average score (72.90), second in par 4 scoring, ninth versus par and 10th in par 3 scoring. Individually, freshman Jana Melichova is seventh in the country in par 4 scoring.
On Monday, the field will there will be a 9 am shotgun and on Tuesday there will be a 8:45 am shotgun for the final 18 holes of competition. Live scoring will be on Golfstat, click here for the link.
