A week before spring football practice begins, ODUSports.com will preview each position. Today we preview the wide receivers and tight ends.
Wide Receiver Overveiw
The wide receiver position will be among one of the most interesting in the spring as playing time will be on the table. ODU lost 92 percent of its receptions from the wide receiver position, which mostly came from Jonathan Duhart, Travis Fulgham and Isaiah Harper.
The leading returner wide receiver is Darrell Brown, who had nine catches for 110-yards and Cornell Hendrick, who had four catches and redshirted. Redshirt freshman Nigel Fitzgerald, Robert Mayo, Aaaron Moore, Darius Savedge and Blake Watson all played last season and were able to redshirt.
Jake Herslow was a stalwart on special teams, totaling six tackles, but will vie for playing time at receiver this season.
Freshman Frederik Antoine signed in December and enrolled in January. He is the first Canadian on the Monarch roster.
Key Departure
Take your pick of Duhart, Fulgham and Harper. Duhart led Conference USA in receptions, Fulgham in receiving yards and Harper was a great safety valve for Blake LaRussa and a dynamo on special teams.

Tight Ends Overview
A young group of tight ends made gains last season and all of them return this spring. Keion White led the group with 11 catches for 124-yards, while Donta Anthony had 10 catches for 124-yards.
Marcus Joyner caught his first career pass and did a solid job as a blocker. AC White played in a pair of games and was able to redshirt.
