NORFOLK, Va. - Old Dominion University baseball scored three runs in the sixth inning, two on a two-run double from Andy Garriola on the way to a 6-3 win over William and Mary in mid-week action at the Bud Metheny Baseball Complex on Tuesday evening.
Trailing 2-1 in the sixth, Garriola drilled a double to right field scoring Bryce Windham and Ryan Teschko and Matt Schwarz followed with an RBI single to score Gariolla to give ODU a 4-2 lead in the sixth.
ODU added to the lead in the seventh with a successful suicide squeeze bunt by Bryce Windham and an RBI single from Matt Burch.
Matt Busher earned the win in relief, pitching 3.2 scoreless innings and did not allow a hit while striking out one. Hunter Gregory pitched the final two innings, giving up four hits and one run and striking out four.
Burch led the way offensively for the Monarchs with two hits, while Gariolla drove in three.
