NORFOLK, Va. – Aziz Kijametovic of the Old Dominion men’s tennis team was named the Conference USA Athlete of the Week on Wednesday afternoon, as announced by league officials.
No. 93 nationally ranked Kijametovic went two in singles to help lift the Monarchs to two 4-3 victories. Kijametovic’s week was highlighted by two straight singles wins, which included downing No. 123 nationally ranked Sergi Fontcuberta of ETSU (6-2, 6-4). Kijametovic and the Monarchs are now 4-2 on the season.
In doubles, Kijametovic and Musitelli are nationally ranked No. 25 in the latest ITA polls.
Kijametovic and the Monarchs will return to action on No. 21 NC State on Sunday, Feb. 17.
