NORFOLK, Va. – Max Wilschrey and Niko Klosterhalfen were named to the United Soccer Coaches NCAA Division I Men’s All-Southeast Region Team as announced Wednesday morning. Wilschrey was named to the first team and Klosterhalfen named to the second team.
Wilschrey and Klosterhalfen both earned spots on the All-Southeast Region Second Team last year.
A breakout season, Wilschrey collected 13 goals and seven assists during the 2018 campaign. The senior etched himself in the ODU record book tying for 15th in career goals (21) and career points (50). With his 33 points in 2018, Wilschrey is tenth in the record book for most points in one season and goals in one season.
Klosterhalfen joins Wilschrey in the record book. This season, the German native added eight goals and nine assists. In his career, he has totaled 21 goals and 16 assists for 58 points. He's now tied for 11th in points in the ODU men's soccer record book. Adding to that, he checks in at seventh for most assists per season with his performance in 2018.
The duo was named to the C-USA All-Tournament Team and members of the First Team All-Conference.
