NEW ORLEANS -- The Old Dominion women's basketball team came up short of its second tournament title of the season, falling to Saint Mary's, 83-65, in the Tulane Classic championship game on Saturday at Devlin Fieldhouse in New Orleans.
Old Dominion (8-3) was unable to withstand the hot shooting from Saint Mary's (7-4), as the Gaels shot 57 percent from the field and 53 percent from beyond the arc.
It was ODU's first loss to a non-Power 5 school this season. The Monarchs' other two losses came to Virginia and No. 13 NC State.
True freshmen Mariah Adams, with 13 points, and Amari Young, with 12 points, both recorded career highs in scoring to lead the Monarchs offensively. Taylor Edwards also finished in double figures with 13.
Edwards and Young were both named to the All-Tournament Team.
