NEW ORLEANS --
The Old Dominion women's basketball team seeks its second tournament title of the season this weekend, as the Monarchs compete in the Tulane Classic Dec. 21-22 at Devlin Fieldhouse in New Orleans.

Old Dominion opens up against host Tulane on Friday at 4 p.m. ET. ODU will then play either Saint Mary's or Texas State on Saturday. Both games will be streamed on Tulane All-Access and also aired locally on 1310 AM radio featuring commentary from Doug Ripley and Susan Montgomery.

Back in late November, ODU won the Buccaneer Classic in Charleston. In that tournament, the Monarchs defeated Jacksonville and Tennessee Tech en route to the championship.

The Monarchs are scoring 72.6 points per game, while committing just 13.0 turnovers per game, which ranks 16th in the nation. ODU is 4-1 on the road this season with the lone loss coming at No. 13 NC State.

Individually, true Ajah Wayne leads the team in both scoring and rebounding with 13.4 points and 9.9 boards per game. Veteran guards Victoria Morris and Taylor Edwards are also averaging double figures for the Monarchs. Morris is averaging 13.1 points and Edwards is averaging 12.6 points and a team-leading 5.1 assists.

This is the second time the Monarchs have participated in the Tulane Classic, which is in its 23rd year. Back in 2010, ODU went 1-1 in what was head coach Wendy Larry's last season at Old Dominion.

ABOUT TULANE (7-2)
The Green Wave are off to a strong start with their only losses coming to No. 18 California and Alabama. Tulane is outscoring its opponents by over 10 points per game (67.4-56.9). Individually, Krystal Freeman and Sierra Cheatham are both averaging over 12 per game for the Green Wave. SERIES HISTORY: Tulane leads the all-time series, 2-0.

ABOUT SAINT MARY'S (5-4)
Saint Mary's has played a difficult non-conference schedule to open the season, as three of its four losses have come to ranked opponents. The Gaels have a high-powered offense that averages over 70 points per game. Sydney Raggio is averaging a team-best 12.6 points per game. SERIES HISTORY: ODU leads the all-time series, 1-0.

ABOUT TEXAS STATE (4-5)
The Bobcats have had an up-and-down start to the season, as TSU has yet to win or lose back-to-back games yet. Toshua Leavitt, a 2017-18 All-Sun Belt performer, is the Bobcats' top offensive threat, as she is averaging 16.6 points per game. As a team, TSU averages just over 60. SERIES HISTORY: ODU and Texas State have never met.
