NORFOLK, Va. – Aziz Kijametovic of the Old Dominion men’s tennis team was named the Conference USA Tennis Athlete of the Month, as announced by league officials on Tuesday afternoon.
The returning C-USA Player of the Year went a perfect 6-0 in the 2018 ITA Atlantic Regional Singles Tournament. The senior won all six matches in straight sets while facing several opponents from teams that ended last season ranked in the top 75 by the ITA. He became the first Old Dominion player since 2013 to be crowned regional champion. Kijametovic also punched his ticket to 2018 Oracle ITA National Fall Championships with his victory. He also qualified for the All-American doubles tournament earlier in the month.
