IRVING, Texas – Seniors Niko Klosterhalfen and Ryan McLaughlin were named to the C-USA All-Academic Team as announced by the league Monday afternoon.
With this honor, Klosterhalfen made the C-USA All-Academic Team all three times as freshman are not eligible. The German native will graduate in December and has earned a 3.88 GPA. Starting in every match this season, Klosterhalfen has collected 22 points off seven goals and eight assists. The senior has been a key player in the midfield scoring two game-winning goals in 2018. Klosterhalfen has been a member of the ODU Dean’s List six times in his career.
After earning C-USA Defensive Player of the Week twice this season and a 3.7 GPA in Mechanical Engineering, McLaughlin was named to the team for the first time in his career. The Ireland native is a key defender for the Monarchs and has led ODU to five shutouts this season. McLaughlin has been a member for the ODU Dean's List two times.
