DAVIDSON, N.C. - The Old Dominion University men's swimming and diving team was edged out on Saturday at Davidson, 139.5-122.5, while the women's squad fell to Davidson, 147-115.
The men's squad earned their first win of the day in the 4x50 medley relay, as the team of Hugo Eriksson, Nick Wukovts, Connor Davis and Noah Wilkins won with a time of 1:33.99.
Alex Pappas and Becca Mayo got the women's team on the board with a 1-2 finish in the 1000 freestyle as Pappas won with a time of 10:47.30, while Mayo was second in 10:51.89.
Jacqueline Tinneny continued her winning ways with a win in the 200 freestyle in 1:55.90.
Peter Durisin won the 100 backstroke for the men with a time of 59.30.
Wukovits earned a win for the Monarchs in the 200 butterfly with a time of 1:54.74, topping teammate Gus Maxwell who finished second in 1:55.37.
Wukovits won the 200 breaststroke while Durisin took second place.
Filip Svedberg triumphed in the 50 and 100 freestyle, winning the 50 free in 21.59 and the 100 free in 47.04. Svedberg completed the hat trick with a time in the 100 butterfly with a time of 49.88.
Jacklyn VandePoel won the 200 backstroke in a time of 2:05.38, while Emilie Petit took the top spot in the 200 breaststroke in 2:22.96.
Tinneny later added a win in the 500 freestyle with a time of 5:09.40.
