IRVING, Texas -- For the second consecutive week to begin her collegiate career, Old Dominion freshman Ajah Wayne has earned a weekly honor from Conference USA, the league announced on Monday.
This week, Wayne has been named the C-USA Freshman of the Week after averaging 18.5 points, 11.0 rebounds and 3.5 assists in two games. This comes one week after Wayne was named the C-USA Co-Freshman of the Week.
The Birmingham, Alabama, native opened the week with a monster 24-point, 16-rebound performance in the overtime win at Cincinnati. She then followed with 13 points, six rebounds and four assists in the six-point loss to Virginia.
For the season, Wayne is averaging 18.3 points, 9.0 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 2.5 steals. She ranks sixth among all freshmen in the nation in scoring.
