NORFOLK, Va. -- The No. 22 Old Dominion field hockey team dropped a non-conference match to No. 4 Duke, 5-1, on Sunday afternoon at the L.R. Hill Sports Complex.
The game entered halftime deadlocked at 1-1, but Duke (11-3) scored four unanswered goals in the second half to pull away for the win.
Jess Miller scored the lone goal for Old Dominion (7-5), deflecting in a pass from Rebecca Birch on a penalty corner in the 31st minute, which tied the game 1-1 just before half. The goal was Miller's first of her career.
The Monarchs held a 7-4 advantage in penalty corners for the game. However, Duke outshot ODU, 22-6.
Kealsie Robles played the full 70 minutes in the cage for the Monarchs, making a season-high eight saves.

Up next, the Monarchs hit the road for away games at Temple and American next weekend.
