NORFOLK, Va. - The Old Dominion (7-3-1, 4-1-0 C-USA) men’s soccer team downed FAU (2-7-0, 1-2-0 C-USA) by a 4-1 score on Saturday night at the ODU Soccer Complex.

Niko Klosterhalfen scored his fourth goal of the season to give ODU a 1-0 lead in the 29th minute off a pass from Daniel Corona.

James Ellis made it 2-0 for Old Dominion heading into halftime after finishing a cross from Kostas Mylonas in the 41st minute.

12 minutes into the second half, Max Wilschrey extended the Monarchs lead to 3-0, as Luke Campbell received credit on the assist.

In the 70th minute, Wilschrey converted on a penalty kick to give Old Dominion a 4-0 lead with 20 minutes remaining in regulation. Wilschrey’s second goal of the contest gave him his team-leading 10th goal of the season.

The Owls made it a 4-1 match in the 77th minute, when Arturo Ernand scored off a pass from Immanuel Sierck.

For the game, ODU outshot FAU 13-4.

Old Dominion will return to the pitch on Tuesday, Oct. 9, when the Monarchs host the No. 3 nationally ranked UNC Tar Heels at the ODU Soccer Complex for a 7:00 p.m. start.
