AKRON, Ohio -- The Old Dominion men's golf team is set to play in the Fireston Intercollegiate, hosted by Akron, this week at Firestone Country Club.
The tournament begins with the first two rounds on Monday, beginning with a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m. ET. The final 18 is then scheduled for Tuesday. Live scoring will be available on GolfStat.
The Monarchs have had a unique start to their fall season. In the first tournament of the fall, ODU was forced to withdraw from the Golfweek Program Challenge in South Carolina due to evacuation procedures in regards to Hurricane Florence. Then, the VCU Invitational was canceled after just a few holes due to tornadoes and flooding in the Richmond area.
Last year at Firestone, the Monarchs placed seventh out of 16 teams. Gustav Fransson, who tied for 24th, is the top returning placer for ODU.
