HUNTINGTON, W. Va. – The Old Dominion (5-2-1, 3-0-0 C-USA) men’s soccer team is set to face Marshall (2-4-2, 0-1-1 C-USA) on Saturday at 7 p.m. ET. ODU is coming off their third straight league victory in South Carolina on Sunday.
Freshman Daniel Corona collected his first goal of his career and the game-winning goal against the Gamecocks. Senior forward Max Wilschrey still leads the Monarchs offensively with eight goals.
Defensively, Mertcan Akar has earned the Monarchs three shutouts and collected 16 saves this season.
About Marshall
On Wednesday, Marshall fell to Butler in overtime to suffer their fourth loss of the season. They are returning to their home pitch for the first time since Sept. 7, where they fell to FIU.
Paulo Pita has collected 27 saves for the Thundering Herd in goal. Offensively, Jonas Westmeyer owns seven points after scoring two goals and adding three assists this season.
