NORFOLK, Va. -- The No. 16 Old Dominion field hockey team heads to the nation's capital on Friday for a 12 p.m. matchup against Georgetown at Cooper Field.

Old Dominion is looking to snap its two-game losing skid, which includes a tough 4-2 defeat to No. 2 UConn, after beginning the season with seven consecutive wins.
ODU is 6-0 in games away from Norfolk, including a 4-0 mark in true road games. As a team, the Monarchs are allowing just 1.42 goals per game, which ranks 18th in the nation and second in the Big East.
Individually, Erin Huffman and Rebecca Birch have paced the ODU attack. Huffman leads the team with 16 points on seven goals and two assists, while Birch has 13 points on six goals and one assist.
In the cage, Lacey Frazier, Cam MacGillivray and Kealsie Robles have split time. Each keeper has played in three games and the trio has combined for three shutouts.
The Monarchs have never lost to the Hoyas and have won all five previous matchups by three or more goals.
ABOUT GEORGETOWN
The Hoyas opened the season with a five-game winning streak, but have since dropped three of their last four. Georgetown is 0-2 in Big East play with losses to Villanova and Quinnipiac. Cami Osborne leads the Hoyas in scoring with six goals.
