IRVING, Texas - Old Dominion University quarterback Blake LaRussa and defensive end Oshane Ximines earned Conference USA Offensive and Defensive Player of the Week honors, respectively, the conference office announced on Monday.
A native of Virginia Beach, LaRussa set career marks in the win over Virginia Tech, completing 30-of-49 for 495-yards and four touchdowns, while rushing for a score. LaRussa's tossed three touchdows to Jonathan Duhart from 14, 4 and 29-yards, and a 25-yarder to Travis Fulgham, while running in from one-yard out.
The 495-yards passing are the fourth most in school history and the most since Taylor Heinicke threw for 533-yards in ODU's first ever FBS win at Idaho in 2013.
Ximines tied his career-high with seven tackles, while adding two sacks and 2.5 tackles for loss. He leads Conference USA with five sacks on the year and is tied for second in C-USA with 7.5 tackles for loss. He has the second most career sacks among active FBS players with 26.
