NEW HAVEN, Conn. - Old Dominion University junior quarterback Blake LaRussa was named the Walter Camp National Offensive Player of the week, the foundation announced on Sunday.
LaRussa completed 30-of-49 passes for 495-yards and four touchdowns, while rushing for 19-yards and a score. All are career-highs for the Virginia Beach native.
The 495-yards is the second most ever given up by a Virginia Tech defense, just three yards shy of Scott Milanovich's 498 for Maryland in 1993. It is the fourth most passing yards by an ODU quarterback, as current Carolina Panther holds the top three marks, including the FCS record of 730 against New Hampshire in 2012.
