EASTON, Pa. -- Due to Hurricane Florence, the No. 15 Old Dominion field hockey team opens Big East play against Providence in Easton, Pennsylvania, at Lafayette College's Rappolt Field on Friday at noon.
The game, originally scheduled to be played in Norfolk, will not be streamed. Live stats will be available on GoLeopards.com.
Old Dominion (6-0) is one of just eight undefeated teams in the nation. Three of ODU's wins have come over ranked opponents, including a 2-1 overtime win at No. 8 Virginia last weekend.
Overall, ODU has outscored its opponents, 14-5, through six games. The Monarchs rank sixth in the nation with a 0.82 goals against average.
Erin Huffman, Ilse Westera and Merle Knobloch are all tied for the team lead in points with seven. Huffman and Westera each have three goals and an assist, while Knobloch has two goals and a team-best three assists.
Cam MacGillivray and Lacey Frazier, who have allowed just a combined two goals in over 280 minutes, will be ODU's goalkeepers for the contest, with Kealsie Robles away on a foreign trip with Team USA.
The Monarchs are 6-1 all-time against Providence. Last year, ODU defeated the Friars, 2-0, in Providence.
ABOUT PROVIDENCE
The Friars enter Friday with a 3-4 record, having won three of their last four. Izzy Mendez and Allyson Parker are Providence's leading scorers with three goals each. Three of the Friars' four losses have come by one goal.
