Football Camp Practice Report: Day One

NORFOLK, Va. - Old Dominion University football held its first day of practice on Monday, Aug. 6 in helmets. The Monarchs are looking to rebound from last year's 5-7 season, returning the 11th most starters in FBS and 22 seniors, the most in program history.

The first practice of fall camp is in helmets, shorts and jerseys by NCAA rule, was approximately two and a half hours, including inside run, team drills, 7 on 7 and a spirited session of tug of war.

Highlights
◊ Junior running back Kesean Strong, who redshirted last year, ripped off a 60-yard touchdown run for the long play of the day.
◊ Steven Williams connected with tight end Marcus Joyner for a nine-yard touchdown pass.
◊ Sophomore kicker Nick Rice kicked a pair of field goals, one from 32 and from 35.

Season tickets remain on sale and are priced at $199, the same price as last season. Season tickets can be ordered by calling the ODU Ticket Office at 757-683-4444 or by going to the box office. Box office hours are Monday-Friday from 10 a.m.-6 p.m., and Saturday from 10 a.m.-2 p.m.
