FAIRFAX, Va. – The Old Dominion women’s soccer team (2-0-2) looks to remain unbeaten when the Monarchs travel to George Mason (1-2-0) for a Thursday, Aug. 30 match at 7:00 p.m. at George Mason Stadium. The game will be streamed on ESPN+. Thursday’s match will mark the first road game of the season for the Monarchs.
ODU is off to its best four-match start to a season since 2010. Old Dominion’s defense hasn’t allowed a goal in the past 352 minutes of play. The Monarchs have allowed just one goal all season, outscoring their opponents 8-1.
Offensively, Old Dominion has been led by Kira Laurento (2 goals, 4 points), Natalie Johnson (1 goal, 2 assists, 4 points) and Iris Achterhof (1 goal, 2 assists, 4 points).
The Monarchs defeated GMU by a 4-0 score to open the 2017 season at the ODU Soccer Complex. ODU sophomore forward, Amanda Nhek, played her freshman season at GMU last year before transferring to Old Dominion.
George Mason returns 19 players, including seven starters from the 2017 season. The Patriots enter Thursday’s match with a 1-2-0 record after defeating East Tennessee State (W, 1-0) and falling to Tennessee (L, 4-0) and Rutgers (L, 4-0). Gabriela Rivera scored GMU’s lone goal so far this season.

The vouchers can be redeemed in any quantity and represent a 75% savings over purchasing general admission tickets at the gate. In addition to entry to the games, the first 200 fans that purchase their ticket voucher books will receive an ODU soccer scarf.
