NORFOLK, Va. – Kira Laurento of the Old Dominion women’s soccer team was named C-USA Offensive Player of the Week. Lauento, a senior captain from Coatesville, Pa., leads the team in points with four after scoring two goals on three attempted shots in the opening two matches of the 2018 season. All C-USA weekly awards are presented by Top of the World Headwear.
In ODU’s season opener, Laurento blasted a shot off the fingertips of ECU’s goalkeeper six minutes into the match, the lone goal for the Monarchs in a 1-1 draw against the Pirates. Against Mount St. Mary’s, Laurento scored the second goal of the night, to extend Old Dominion’s lead to 2-0 and ultimately help secure a 3-0 victory.
The Monarchs welcome Towson to the ODU Soccer Complex this Thursday for a 7:00 p.m. start.
