CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – Old Dominion women’s golfers Maggie Simmermacher and Katerina Vlasinova both earned spots on the VaSID All-State First Team for the second straight season as announced by the organization Monday.
Making her fourth appearance on a VaSID All-State Team, Simmermacher tabs her second straight All-State First Team honor. Named 2018 C-USA Player of the Year, Simmermacher was named to the first team all conference and tabbed four all-conference honors. The Argentina native posted a 73.8 season stroke average, which was second-best on the team. Simmermacher helped the Monarchs break the school record for a 54-hole team score with an 859-team score at the Brickyard Collegiate. Simmermacher collected four top-10 finishes and one top five finish this season. She closed out her collegiate career finishing 24th at the C-USA Championship and tied for 82nd at the NCAA Madison Regional.
Vlasinova finished her career as a two-time member of the VaSID First Team All-State. Vlasinova joins Simmermacher on the First Team All-C-USA, which was her fourth all-conference honor of her career as well. The Czech Republic native ended the season ranked 153rd in the nation in the GolfStat Individual Rankings. Vlasinova compiled a 73.1 season stroke average, which led the squad. She helped the Monarchs break the school record for a 54-hole team score with an 859-team score at the Brickyard Collegiate. This season, Vlasinova notched five top-10 finishes and three top five finishes. Vlasinova ended her collegiate career finishing eighth at the C-USA Championship and tied for 47th at the NCAA Madison Regional.
