NORFOLK, Va. – Old Dominion University women’s soccer head coach Angie Hind has added Anita Gaspar to the 2018 recruiting class, Hind announced on Friday.
“We are thrilled to have Anita join our program for this fall and to be able to make this addition so close to preseason makes it even more exciting. Anita has shown to be able to make a strong impact with her club team, and was already playing senior women’s soccer at the age of 16,” Hind said. “I believe she will bring quality in the midfield area as she is an attacking minded player with good individual skills and the ability to strengthen our team in the final third. I have been so impressed by her enthusiasm to come to ODU and I believe she will thrive on this opportunity to be in a full-time environment. Myself and the team are very excited to welcome Anita Gaspar to our Monarch family.”
Gaspar played for Derby County FC in England for the U17 team and has also been called up to play for the women’s team.
A native of Nottingham, England, Gaspar was born in Portugal.
The Monarchs begin the 2018 slate at home on Friday, Aug. 17 against East Carolina at 7 p.m.
