NORFOLK, Va. -- Head coach Murray Rudisill announced the addition of two more signees for the 2018-19 season on Tuesday. Joining the Monarchs next season will be Doug Rios-Ceballos and Michael Minnehan.
"We are pleased to welcome two more new golfers for the fall of 2018," said Rudisill. "Doug is a top junior college player from Hutchinson Junior College in Kansas. Michael is from New York and has had an outstanding career in state and junior events while in high school."
Doug Rios-Ceballos is a juco transfer from Hutchinson Junior College in Kansas. The Australia native was a First Team All-Region selection in 2017-18 and an Honorable Mention All-Conference selection. He placed second at the Jayhawk Tournament this season and was twiced named to the All-Tournament Team at the Dr. Pepper Fall Invitational.
Michael Minnehan, from Rochester, New York, will join the Monarchs as a freshman in 2018-19. Minnehan has had a successful youth career in the state of New York and captured third at the New York State Boys’ Junior Amateur Championship.
Rios-Ceballos and Minnehan join Chris Ayers, one of the top juco players in the nation, in the three-player class.
"All three of these players will have an immediate impact on the program," said Rudisill about the 2018 signing class.
