NORFOLK, Va. -- Old Dominion hosts former CAA foe VCU in midweek action on Tuesday at 6 p.m. ET at the Bud Metheny Complex.
The Monarchs are 3-6 in midweek games this season and 3-5 against schools from the Commonwealth of Virginia.
Last week, ODU went 1-2, falling at VMI in the midweek before splitting a rain-shortened, two-game Conference USA series at Marshall. Culver Lamb (.291, 8 HR, 25) had a big week at the plate, hitting four home runs in the three games, and now leads the club in that category.
Matt Schwarz (.344, 1 HR, 19 RBI) and Erik Stock (.336, 2 HR, 19 RBI) lead the team in hitting, as the Monarchs have posted eight or more hits in 12 of the last 13 games.
On the mound, freshman righty Hunter Gregory (3-4, 5.74 ERA) will get the start for ODU.
This will be the 152nd all-time meeting between the Monarchs and Rams. ODU leads the series, 90-61. Last year, the Monarchs swept the season series.
ODU and VCU will meet again next week in Richmond on Tuesday.
