WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - No. 117 Aziz Kijametovic of the Old Dominion men’s tennis team fell to No. 53 Felix Corwin of Minnesota in the First Round of the 2018 NCAA Division I Men's Tennis Singles Championships on Wednesday afternoon at the Wake Forest Tennis Complex in Winston-Salem, N.C.
“Aziz very played a good match, said ODU head coach Dominik Mueller. “It was even from start to end and little nuances made the difference. This comes with experience and playing at this stage will help Aziz and the whole team next year when we keep playing a tough schedule.”

Kijametovic automatically qualified 2018 NCAA Division I Men's Tennis Singles Championships, as he was the highest ranked player in Conference USA.
Aziz Kijametovic (Player of the Year, All-Conference USA Singles First Team)
Kijametovic is ranked No. 117 in the ITA for singles, which makes him the only Conference USA player to be ranked in the national rankings. In addition, he was ranked with two different doubles partners throughout the season. He compiled a 21-10 season singles record, 13-6 in dual matches, 6-3 versus teams currently ranked in the Top 50 and 3-4 against ranked opponents. His body of work for this season also includes one Conference USA Athlete of the Month honor in the fall and three C-USA Athlete of the Week honors during the spring campaign.
