JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The No. 4 seed ODU (5-12, 2-3 ASUN) is set to play top seeded and host Jacksonville (14-3, 5-0 ASUN) in the first round of the ASUN lacrosse tournament on Thursday, May 3 at 1 p.m.

The Monarch offense is led by sophomore Glory Johnson and Sophia Richie. They combine for 66 goals and 19 assists this season.

Defensively, Kerri Caruso has led the Monarchs in caused turnovers (34) and now sits 18th in the NCAA in that category. In goal, Lauren Ey has 107 saves through 17 games.

About Jacksonville
The Dolphins are undefeated in league play and have just three losses on the entire season. Earlier in the season the Monarchs fell to Jacksonville by a 21-12 score. ODU is now 0-6 against the Dolphins.

In the midfield, Ashtyn Hiron has been named ASUN Player of the Week six times this season. Hiron leads the ASUN in point (77) and currently leads the nation in free position percentage (.777).

In 2017, ODU fell in the semifinal to Mercer by an 18-14 final score. Mercer has moved to the SoCon but the Monarchs defeated the Bears 12-11 on the road this season. 

In 2016, ODU defeated Detroit to capture the ASUN Championship in overtime. This was just their second year in the conference, where they finished 16-4, which was their best record to date.

In their first season in the ASUN, the Monarchs went on to a 6-1-conference record, but fell to Detroit 14-11 in the conference tournament.
