NORFOLK, Va. – Old Dominion University football defensive end Bunmi Rotimi signed with the Chicago Bears as an undrafted free agent following the NFL Draft Saturday night.
Rotimi played in nine games as a senior, recording Rotimi had 29 tackles, 5.5 sacks and 7.0 tackles for loss. For his career, he played in 46 games and notched 139 tackles, ranks fifth in school history with 26.5 tackles for loss, and second in school history with 19 sacks.
A former walk-on, Rotimi became the second Monarch to compete at the NFL Combine, joining Zach Pascal who participated in 2017.
Rotimi, a native of Alexandria, Virginia, earned C-USA All-Freshman honors in 2014. He was named C-USA honorable mention in 2016 and 2017.
Rotimi joins Ray Lawry as Monarchs that signed free agent contracts on Saturday. The pair joins Rashaad Coward (Chicago Bears), Taylor Heinicke (Carolina Panthers), Rick Lovato (Philadelphia Eagles) and Zach Pascal (Tennessee Titans) on NFL rosters.
